We are building a client-first wealth services business.
The following tenets are our commitments to clients that set us apart.
-

At Kings Path, we are committed to providing clients with full transparency in how they are served, how their investments are performing, and what fees they are paying. We respect our clients and believe they deserve open, honest answers and advice at all times.
-
Be Astute Learners and Leaders
Kings Path’s evidenced-based investment approach is grounded in objective academic research. Our consultative approach to problem-solving and project implementation provides clients with well-analyzed recommendations and greater confidence in project completion.
-
Be Service-Focused and Relational
Our desire is to go the extra mile by selflessly serving and caring for all our clients. We foster long-lasting relationships built upon in-depth knowledge and understanding of each client’s vision and values.
-
Be an Independent Fiduciary
Our industry is fraught with conflicts ranging from proprietary products to soft dollars to outside ownership and incentives. Because we are privately held and fiduciaries, Kings Path is free to select the right investments and services to best meet our clients’ needs.
OUR TEAM
Striving to be the most sought-after and trusted advisor for people who have a heart for stewarding what they’ve been given.
OUR NAME
Why “Kings Path”?
Wealth brings the opportunity to travel an exciting path around personal growth, family values, and community impact. We are joining clients on their wealth journeys to help guide them to their chosen destinations.
OUR HISTORY
Bringing genuine care to the financial advisor industry.
In May of 2015, the journey of Kings Path began. Mike was serving as president of a $5 billion investment management firm when he began hearing stories from friends and associates about the poor level of care they were receiving from their financial advisers. He heard comments like: “I am continually being sold,” “My fees are too high,” “My adviser doesn’t listen,” “This is too complex to manage,” and “I don’t understand what they do.”
After working hard to build net worth, they were not receiving the carefully tailored counsel and guidance they needed and expected from the advisors they were trusting.
We believed there must be a better way, and from this, Kings Path was born. Kings Path was founded to provide personalized financial and investment consulting services for clients desiring to steward financial resources well. Our commitment is to put client interests first and to lead and guide with honesty, respect, and care. We truly want to raise the bar for the level of service provided in our industry.
As we reflect on this journey, we are grateful for the blessing it has been for our team to serve alongside clients in so many of their changing life situations. We look forward to a future of growth and the opportunity to offer more clients the careful guidance we believe they are seeking.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Because we can’t and won’t serve everyone, we get to pick our clients. We work with a wide range of clients, but what generally unites our varied clients is their strong desire to steward their resources well. We work with high net worth families, entrepreneurs & owners, retirees, industry professionals, and younger couples.

When we started Kings Path, we set a goal of demonstrating passion and skills for the industry and a commitment to ongoing education. At KPP, we are always seeking to grow by adding licenses and designations but also by learning from our collective wealth of personal and shared experience.
A Series 6 or Series 7 is just not enough. While this allows you to be labeled an “Advisor” or “Broker”, it doesn’t necessarily equip you to be one. In order to more fully serve our clients, our team members have achieved the following designations and certifications:
Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), which tests over a very broad set of financial and investment materials and practices.
Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA®), which has three levels of intensive exams covering investments, portfolio design, economics, ethics, and other topics.
Certified Private Wealth Adviser (CPWA®), an advanced study program that focuses on higher net worth families and executives.
Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), a designation that represents knowledge of and ability to apply fiduciary practices.
Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA), a designation certifying a financial professional’s knowledge and ability in the field of trusts and financial advice.

Several questions we encourage prospective clients to ask the advisor are:
Is the advisor a full-time fiduciary? Some advisors are also brokers who switch back and forth between putting your interests first and their interests first. You want an advisor who puts your interests first all the time.
Do they have conflicts of interest? Common conflicts are proprietary products such as in-house wrap programs and their own mutual funds, commissions from selling products, and outside ownership.
Are they registered and do they have a clean record? Check brokercheck.finra.org to search for registration and any complaints.
Do they have advanced credentials? Credentials indicate a passion and capability for learning and a deeper commitment to ethics.
Will they be transparent? Your advisor should disclose all fees and investment results should be benchmarked against indices.
Do they emphasize customized service? A good advisor will provide more than a "cookie-cutter" solution. He or she will listen and serve your needs uniquely. You should be more than just a page in their "book of business."
-
A fiduciary financial advisor acts on the client’s behalf, putting his or her interests ahead of their own. We have a legal obligation and the genuine desire to preserve good faith and trust by acting in your best interest.

Many advisers have hidden ways to make money off their “book of business.” There are commissions, incentives, margin agreements, proprietary product management fees, trading spreads, etc. These all come out of the client’s returns and pockets. Even with disclosure documents, most of these structures make it very hard for clients to know what they are paying for the services they receive.
Our philosophy for pricing is complete transparency. Clients generally pay a fee based on assets under management (AUM) – a fee that is typically lower than most in the industry. (Just pull up the various Form ADVs and compare ours.) We also have some clients that pay us hourly or on a retainer. In any case, we are fee-only, meaning we don’t receive compensation from any other source so that our recommendations are not biased by other forms of compensation.
